This semester is going to be a toughy but I am sure that I will be able to climb this mountain all the way to the top. I am taking some very interesting classes this semester one being entitled Jeffersonian America. Its from around the signing of the Articles of confederation through the beginning of the civil war. Right now we are reading about the political crisis of the 1790's. I was astonished at little I knew about what happened after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. There were many times that the people in charge of our country could have just given up and thrown the towel in and let the new country crumble. They divisions in the government were bonded by one thing, the Constitution. They had the toughest of circumstances in which to come to decisions and meet in the middle of their differences. They created the Constitution and revered it so strongly that even the biggest division of ideas could be ended in a compromise to keep faithful the promise of the Constitution to the people of America. Why in this day and time do we let our so called political leaders get away with forgetting that the reason this country is what it is, is because of compromise and the and a belief in a parchment of paper created by many tedious hours of discussion. If a brand new country was able to survive in those first few decades all the new ideas and laws just thrown out there for everyone to learn to deal with without any examples our government should be able to make this country even better because they have examples from the past. And most they could really learn from studying the past.
Those are my thoughts for the day. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Merry Christmas!

Well the Thanksgiving posts did not go as expected. I am just in awe of how busy everything has been since about the week before Thanksgiving! I can not believe that Christmas is only a week away. Time has certainly flown by this semester and I am just flabbergasted at the fact that in three weeks I will be attending classes at UGA. I am so thankful to have gotten there and to be where I am now.
I love the holidays because it means getting to spend time with family. I have had a wonderful time being at home with my animals and making cookies with my mom and doing other fun things for the holidays. We got a gorgeous 11ft Christmas tree for our family room this year and I love being here to just stare at it.
I am not sure if I will be able to post again before Christmas or not but I am going to post some pictures from the fall football gala and the lyrics to my favorite Christmas song. Even more crazy that I only have 10 days of fall semester left at GSC and then finally on to UGA. The semester feels like a whirlwind to me but looking back it feels so long ago I made the move here. This has been a fun, busy, crazy, and very learned few months. God has certainly blessed me in my life and I continually feel that and give thanks every day.

I can not wait for the holidays. I am so excited that they are just around the corner. This next month and a half will be filled with quite a few mile markers that seem to me like time has flown since they were created. The first of those being that the weekend after Thanksgiving I will hopefully be celebrating a very special two year anniversary with one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I am so thankful that he has been here to share with me these past two years and that we have gotten to grow and experience new things in life together. I honestly do not know where I would be without him. The second of these being finally going to be attending the University of Georgia. It feels like I have waited for this for so long. I am glad that I was patient and allowed God to help me with this decision. One of the things I am looking forward to most is getting back into the pool because I will finally have an indoor pool to swim laps at yay! Thirdly after Wednesday of this week, I will have completed my first semester of student teaching! Wow! I loved my 2nd grade class and am so thankful to have had that opportunity.
I have a feeling once school ends things will not slow down at all but I love this time of year so I really pray that it will be one of many blessings.

For the rest of November I think my goal will be to try and post something on my blog that I am thankful for. I feel like that would get me to a very humble place on Thanksgiving! I am definitely ready for some turkey and family time!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and Blessed month of November!

End of October Already?

I can not believe that it is already the end of October. The time has absolutly flown during my favorite month of the year. Last weekend was my 20th bday and this weekend I will be traveling to Jacksonville for the UGA vs. UF game. I am so excited. I have been struggling with a blog entry topic for a while now but today I decided that I did not need one and I could use this time to ramble because well it is my blog.
Recently I have begun to notice how easily it is for people including me to get side tracked from the real reason why we are on this earth. One of the things that has been bothering me is how easily some people can get so caught up in judgment of others and themselves and forget that there is only one person who has the power to truthfully and honestly make judgments. I know I do it to but only to a certain extent because I have really been working on this. But I am talking about those of us who judge immediately on everything not just fellow humans but everything you can possibly make judgments on. I just pray that maybe as people get older and mature more that they will grow out of this. anyways thats all of my griping for the day.
Have a happy halloween! and Go DAWGS!

He Placed the Stars in the sky and knows them by name...

<span style="font-style: italic; There is a quaint little store in Cashiers, NC that my family visits when we travel there that has quite a collection of handmade items. One set of items in particular that has very much so captured our interest in previous years is that of these adorable hand made button/block dolls. We have collected everything from the full cast of Wizards of Oz to Mr. and Mrs. Clause and The Grinch. Last week I decided to attempt at making my own with hopes to maybe join that business. Keep in mind that these are my first attempts and are far from perfect but hopefully I will get better with each doll. Enjoy and GO DAWGS.

Negativity.

Recently, I have become extremely aware of things or people around me with a great deal of negativity. It has become increasingly harder for me to just ignore it and let it slip by. I just can not for the life of me see how its possible for anyone to find joy in being negative. Understandably people deal with stress and events of life differently than others but seriously how does it benefit the person or the people around that person to be negative all the time. I can not think of any good out comes that we get from being negative. Sure I have been negative but I am not talking about the occasional stress or event that causes it. I am talking specifically about the people who just can not seem to figure out that even though something might be taking place that is unfair, it feels better to try and find the positive side to everything negative. I think learning to do that goes along with learning to be patient and letting God show you the positive side to everything negative. It seems to me like a majority of the big picture God is trying to teach His children ties back to learning to be patient. That will help me to be patient with the negative people and show them how much better it feels to learn to be positive.

Any who that was my lessen for the day. But not until these past few months have I truly understood it. To be patient is to fully allow yourself to trust God and wait for His direction without attempting to make your path go the way you think it should. In the past few months I have made big decisions regarding my future school wise. Currently, I am waiting to hear whether or not I will be making a change school wise this coming spring. Being patient on this is one of the hardest patient waiting games i have ever had to play. To be honest, until last night I have been doing a horrible job. It was making me stressed and irritable, and in general antsy.

Laying in bed last night, the saying "patience is a virtue" kept playing over and over again in my head. I realized that this waiting game has been a lesson for me. Patience is really one of the biggest blessings God can grant a person in life. Understanding this blessing is another blessing in its self. Learning how to wait without wondering constantly what the next step is lets us live our life without being afraid to make a wrong choice that was stressfuly thought out and handled. If we give that process of making choices to God and let Him handle it for us we would feel so much more free and happy. He wants to bless us by relieving our fears, anxiety, and stressful hazardous thinking. What a great blessing.

I think many things in this past year contributed to the discovery of this amazing gift from God. So yes patience is a virtue but there is also a gift hidden in that, a gift that allows us to be virtuous. A gift that relieves fear and worry. Patience is a great thing. It takes work but its work that will end in a Blessing. So instead of praying for a fast decision I am going to pray for patience and the strength to be patient.

Back to school again...

Tomorrow is officially back to school day. That sounds so terrible. I am actually excited for school to start though so its not all that bad. These last few weeks have been crazy getting ready to go back and other happenings. I have been trying to come up with a few things to work on this fall to help me grow in God. Recently I read the book "The Shack," if you have not read it, you need to it is defiantly a must read. In the book there is a section on judging other people and it really got to me. I did not realize how many times a day and how easy judging comes to everyone. It is really one of the main things people thrive on in life. So this fall is going to be my time to become very aware of my judging.

I am excited to make new friends and learn new things. I am also so happy it is finally football season yay! Well there is a lot more I would love to say but I need to get ready for school. So my final thoughts for the night are to God -
Dear Lord, please bless me and all my friends as we start our school year. Keep us safe and grounded and bless us with your teachings. Help us to stay on the right path and if we stray guide us back. Thank you Lord for all you give to us. Amen

Reasons...

I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now but had no idea what I would write about. I love reading friends blogs and knowing what is happening in people's lives that I can not talk to every day. I finally decided that I wanted to start my own after deciding that it wasn't necessary to have to write about a certain topic and that I could actually just write about anything. So this is my random thoughts, ideas, and life stories put on to "paper" for anyone who cares.

The title of my blog might need some explaining. Anyone that knows me knows that I am an avid Miley Cyrus fan mostly because of her amazing songs. Earlier this year she released a song called "The Climb. It talks about life's ups and downs and how even when we are going through the roughest times, we always need to have faith and keep on going because it will get better. I love songs with good lyrics and this one in particular has really spoken to me. So this blog is about my life's climb. I have no idea if anyone will actually read this but its more for me to put my thoughts down than anything. So enjoy and keep the faith.

James 1:2-4

2:Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3:because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4:Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
