Oh January...

I can not believe January has already come and almost gone. This semester is going to be a toughy but I am sure that I will be able to climb this mountain all the way to the top. I am taking some very interesting classes this semester one being entitled Jeffersonian America. Its from around the signing of the Articles of confederation through the beginning of the civil war. Right now we are reading about the political crisis of the 1790's. I was astonished at little I knew about what happened after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. There were many times that the people in charge of our country could have just given up and thrown the towel in and let the new country crumble. They divisions in the government were bonded by one thing, the Constitution. They had the toughest of circumstances in which to come to decisions and meet in the middle of their differences. They created the Constitution and revered it so strongly that even the biggest division of ideas could be ended in a compromise to keep faithful the promise of the Constitution to the people of America. Why in this day and time do we let our so called political leaders get away with forgetting that the reason this country is what it is, is because of compromise and the and a belief in a parchment of paper created by many tedious hours of discussion. If a brand new country was able to survive in those first few decades all the new ideas and laws just thrown out there for everyone to learn to deal with without any examples our government should be able to make this country even better because they have examples from the past. And most they could really learn from studying the past.
Those are my thoughts for the day. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Merry Christmas!

Well the Thanksgiving posts did not go as expected. I am just in awe of how busy everything has been since about the week before Thanksgiving! I can not believe that Christmas is only a week away. Time has certainly flown by this semester and I am just flabbergasted at the fact that in three weeks I will be attending classes at UGA. I am so thankful to have gotten there and to be where I am now.
I love the holidays because it means getting to spend time with family. I have had a wonderful time being at home with my animals and making cookies with my mom and doing other fun things for the holidays. We got a gorgeous 11ft Christmas tree for our family room this year and I love being here to just stare at it.
I am not sure if I will be able to post again before Christmas or not but I am going to post some pictures from the fall football gala and the lyrics to my favorite Christmas song. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and a wonderful time with their family. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This is one of my absolute favorite songs. It is called Light Your World and it is by Newsong on their Christmas album. Enjoy!

Two doors down one rocking chair is rocking
She sits there all alone, her husband dead and gone
The best years of her life they spent together
He was always strong, but now she's on her own
And the telephone never rings
No one laughs, no one sings
It's quiet there
Does anyone care?

Light your world
Let the love of God shine through
In the little things you do
Light your world
And though your light may be
Reaching only two or three
Light your world

A knocking at her door breaks the silence
She looks out to see a little boy from down the street
She cracks the door, surprised that he came over
Flowers in his hand like a little gentleman
He said, 'I picked these just for you
I hope you like the color blue
Could I stay a while
I love to see you smile.'

Light your world
Let the love of God shine through
In the little things you do
Light your world
And though your light may be
Reaching only two or three
Light your world

It only takes a little time
To show someone how much you care
It only takes a little time
To answer someone's biggest prayer

Day 1...

Today I am thankful for being able to express my opinions and not worry about breaking any laws. I am also thankful for having a great country and I am Proud to be an American and am so grateful to everyone who has ever protected this country. God Bless America.

November

Wow, the fact that November will be over in less than 2 weeks seems so crazy to me. Even more crazy that I only have 10 days of fall semester left at GSC and then finally on to UGA. The semester feels like a whirlwind to me but looking back it feels so long ago I made the move here. This has been a fun, busy, crazy, and very learned few months. God has certainly blessed me in my life and I continually feel that and give thanks every day.

I can not wait for the holidays. I am so excited that they are just around the corner. This next month and a half will be filled with quite a few mile markers that seem to me like time has flown since they were created. The first of those being that the weekend after Thanksgiving I will hopefully be celebrating a very special two year anniversary with one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I am so thankful that he has been here to share with me these past two years and that we have gotten to grow and experience new things in life together. I honestly do not know where I would be without him. The second of these being finally going to be attending the University of Georgia. It feels like I have waited for this for so long. I am glad that I was patient and allowed God to help me with this decision. One of the things I am looking forward to most is getting back into the pool because I will finally have an indoor pool to swim laps at yay! Thirdly after Wednesday of this week, I will have completed my first semester of student teaching! Wow! I loved my 2nd grade class and am so thankful to have had that opportunity.
I have a feeling once school ends things will not slow down at all but I love this time of year so I really pray that it will be one of many blessings.

For the rest of November I think my goal will be to try and post something on my blog that I am thankful for. I feel like that would get me to a very humble place on Thanksgiving! I am definitely ready for some turkey and family time!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and Blessed month of November!

End of October Already?

I can not believe that it is already the end of October. The time has absolutly flown during my favorite month of the year. Last weekend was my 20th bday and this weekend I will be traveling to Jacksonville for the UGA vs. UF game. I am so excited. I have been struggling with a blog entry topic for a while now but today I decided that I did not need one and I could use this time to ramble because well it is my blog.
Recently I have begun to notice how easily it is for people including me to get side tracked from the real reason why we are on this earth. One of the things that has been bothering me is how easily some people can get so caught up in judgment of others and themselves and forget that there is only one person who has the power to truthfully and honestly make judgments. I know I do it to but only to a certain extent because I have really been working on this. But I am talking about those of us who judge immediately on everything not just fellow humans but everything you can possibly make judgments on. I just pray that maybe as people get older and mature more that they will grow out of this. anyways thats all of my griping for the day.
Have a happy halloween! and Go DAWGS!
